It's a constant battle

Y'all my weight is starting to be a really big issue.

I dropped down to 145 last summer/fall and it seemed that when my mom and I started watching our calories that we started gaining. My mom had been a set weight for years and started to gain and me I lost 15 pounds only to gain a ton back.

Spending the summer at my sisters didn't help at all. I usually don't eat a lot of bread and never really snacked except for a night time snack. We ate sandwiches everyday for lunch and corndogs and for supper we ate really fast because her husband was a fast eater and was rushing us. I snacked sooo much. Candy, chips and salsa, icecream. I started buying fruits torwards the end because I could feel my pants getting tighter.

When I came home I found that I was no longer at 145 and I wasn't even in the 50's. That's right ladies, I am now at my highest weight ever, 167. UGH!!! I hate to see that number on the scales and I can't even wear my old sizes in dresses and skirts. IT sucks. I already had a big enough butt, big hips, and big thighs. Now those things are worse and I got a tummy to go with it.

I try my best to snack on fruits, but I just stay sooo hungry and it kills me to fight it. Im fighting it but I'm still not losing. I was taking a step aerobics class at the college, but I had to drop because it wasn't step aerobics that I knew of. We stayed on the ground doing push ups and sit ups and lifted weights. I ended up gaining a few pounds of muscle.

My mom and me have started running and walking but I just dont know how to get this weight off of me.

I need some really good diet plans or lifestyle changes. I don't want to gain the weight I lose back, but I want to lose and feel healthy and not fill so big when I'm with my friends or around other girls. I have low self esteem already and this newfound weight isnt helping!

Ladies help me! Please! Any diets or lifestyle changes that have worked for you please send them my way. They will be gladly appreciated!

Weight struggles are so hard. I gained about 20+ lbs toward the end of h.s. and the first year of college. I highly recommend weight watchers. It's more of a lifestyle change once you get used to it (although yes, it will feel diet like while you're getting used to it and you'll be hungry feeling). It's great, though, because you can eat almost anything within reason in limited portions. I also think the newer versions allow you quite a few "activity points" to promote exercising. As far as working out goes, I think the 30 day shred is a great place to kick start a tough (aka effective) workout program. Walking and running have also been great for me. I once read, though, that you should find something similar to what you liked to do for fun when you were a kid (i.e. I used to dance and I LOVED zumba), and I think that's good advice because you'll enjoy it more. Hope this helps and sorry so long!

I'm right there with ya, girl! I totally fell off the bandwagon--and I had a good thing going on! I'm getting back on track, and I HAVE too---sooooon. Walking is the best medicine for me---I try and squeeze it in over lunch breaks, etc. I just am such a snackaholic, it gets me every time. Chin up!! You are motivated and you know what's on the line. At least you're weighing--I have been too scared to this week :)
Hang in there!

Water, water, water! Drinking lots of that and walking are a great way to shed pounds.

Find something that's easy to stick with! If you deprive yourself too much you can't stick with it, so I don't like diets where you have to cut out all carbs or something. Not realistic for maintenance!!

Weight struggles are definitely not fun. I'd have to say just have a consistent schedule that you follow. Work out for an hour three times a week. And eat three meals a day with an afternoon snack. It's really helped me to cut out eating after eight. Hope this helps. You can do it!

snacking isn't as much a problem as much as what it is you're snacking on.

also...

are you drinking soda? you've got to drop the pop! sugar makes your body crave more sugar. also, the carbonation throws off the ph balance in your body. when the ph is off you/re body can't absorb the nutrients it needs. -and i haven't researched this part, but it seems to follow that when you're body isn't getting what it needs it's going to tell your brain that it's hungry.

good luck!
